An reinterpretation of Morton Feldmans “The King of Denmark” - Feldman’s “silent resistance” against Stockhausen’s percussion work Zyklus, based on three very different performances  of this work from the IMD archive: exploring the interpretational aspects of the semi-open score as well as the Cagean "silences” between the notes and the ambient sounds of the performance spaces.

Belta poi che (2017)  '7       score

for soprano, theorbo, harpsichord, cassette players and electronics

Belta poi che (2017) finds its inspiration in a few lines from a madrigal by the renaissance composer Carlo Gesualdo. In addition to the baroque instruments, the musicians also play a couple of cassette players - a sounding and visual metaphor of the composition technique in the work. Gesualdo’s lines are mechanically chopped up, rewound, fast-forwarded and paused, while the percussive sound world of the cassette players’ mechanics turns in to a stark contrast to the lyrical lines.

Inner Ear Music (2016)   '19      score

for solo cello and video

This work explores different ways of working with silence combined with visuals, and how music can unfold in a space that includes the inner ear of the audience as much as the actual sound from the live performance; how to create different type of silences using visual counterpoint in the form of pre-recorded material, and how to ”fill” these silences with different meanings in building up and working with expectations.
